When you get a hosting plan, what percentage of the space should be allowed fot the database? So if you got a hosting plan that gave you 5 gigs of storage, what size database would you be allowed to have? Is 100 megabyte database limit OK? Or, should you be allowed to have a larger database?
    Thanks

It depends what you are planning to do. The database size isn't really determined by how much storage you need.
A site that consists of 100gigs of pages might not need a database, But a site that consists of 1mb of files might need a 100 gig database.
Best thing to do is start with an average hosting package and see if you need to upgrade in the future.

I am looking at the beginner plan from 1and1 webhosting right now. Anyway it seems like 100 MB out of a 5gig storage is a little stingy.
