I’ve been reading in this section for some time now, and am having difficult finding affiliates. I found this question list on how an affiliate would think, and I’ve tried to answer it: Do you: 1. Have a unique product that isn't swamped by millions of other affiliates already? Answer: Yes, We sell DVD downloads, and only 2 websites (our is one of them) owns the license to provide downloads, all other resellers must sell them as a physical DVD. 2. Pay a bigger % than any competitors you might have? Answer: Well, I’m willing to pay $1 for each sale. Typically each DVD goes for $8-9 so that’s a ~ 10% payout. 3. Does anyone actually want your product. What's the point of spending time, effort and money flogging a dead horse. Answer: We'll we are pretty unique in what we sell, which is also reflected on good sale monthly, although we want to expand. 4. Will you actually pay me for my sales/leads/whatever or will you skim it and reject sales left, right and center. Answer: We've been in the business for a long time (and online for 1.5 year) so we understand the importance of affiliates/resellers. 5. Are you available to talk to over the phone or do I have to raise yet another support ticket that will never get answered? Answer: You will be given an direct email. 6. How do you perform payout? Answer: Via paypal. 7. Can sales be tracked? Answer: Our entire portal is based on a custom solution, so our affiliate program will also be custom developed thus "yes, sales will be traceable"
I've said this 3 times in 3 days here: super-affiliates. The low-hanging fruit here would be high-traffic/authority sites in your niche that already participate in one or more affiliate programs. Approach them directly (phone) rather than waiting for them to find you. P.S. I sympathize that you're squeezed by online and offline competition, but $1 per sale is not that much. At a 1% conversion rate, that would only be 1c per click. This might be mitigated somewhat by the possibility of multiple/recurring purchases, depending on the specific circumstances.
As a ballpark figure I'd say that realistically earning over $100 a month is "a lot", and the possibility of earning over $1000 a month should interest any super-affiliate. Obviously sales will vary from site to site, but I see an awful lot of programs where I can't imagine ANYONE making even one sale every day - so why bother even testing it?
