I just took over a Domain from a company. Registrant is anoter company. They transferred the Name Server but refuses to give rights to Domain informations so I can change it. Also refuses to give the Domain rights back to the company it belongs to. Please suggest what can be done? We have to build their website. The company transferred the NS but website is down. What should I do, how come they transferred the Ns but refuse to transfer or give the domain name back to the company that actually owns the business?

have you taken over the entire domain name or you are just building "THEIR" site as mentioned in your post?

The domain name certainly is the property of the registrant but you need to check the TOS of the registrar before registering the domain name.

    Hi,

One of my friend have the same problem and I have adviced him to puchase the domain from the owner on a suitable price other wise you will have to purchase a new domain for the web. This will effect the site performance as you will lose the Marketing of the site and regular visitors to as they will visit the 1st domain rather then the new one.
